@arcana @anemone @bot gypsy is a colloquial word for half a dozen groups that are insular and scam/steal from outsiders. we have them in the usa but hilariously while police still have to remind people every spring in communities about common scams happening again, they won't tell you why or who lol

@arcana @anemone @bot there's a group in new england called irish travelers that do not appear to be irish or gypsy that are called gypsies. they make money by running constant scams like "we have leftover asphalt and we can tar your driveway at a discount" or "we have leftover shingles from a job and can do your roof" they take your money and never do the work. They take all the money and pool it together for their community. They also have literal child marriage, they have big parties where they pair up kids. before americans turned turbo-retarded journalists snuck into their communities and recorded them doing all of this on video, it is literally irrefutable so all you are told now is "shut up"

@sun @anemone @arcana @bot I just finished watching the most generous 30 minute irish traveler documentary I could find and you could still tell they were subhuman. the way the guy in the trailer flicks the light switch and goes "da lights dont werk i dun haf a jahb te council dun givus lectricity." and the old lady goes "da faucit dont werk we dun had te beg the council te install a spigot ouside are caravan." pikeys.
