   (one of my kids just finished school in Florida, and the rule there was "evacuation after the airport is closed and all flights cancelled, and you can't get out of the hurricane zone in time by driving") #FLwx #Milton

     @ai6yr I spent summers working menial jobs for extravagant pay on Martha's vineyard. The only way off the island is a boat. The manager of a grocery store expected us to wait until the storm was imminent and then come in to raise all the stock to higher shelves. This was the end of summer, so worse case for me was heading out 2 weeks early. So many people were shocked when I said I would be gone well before that. They wanted life endangering loyalty for a grocery clerk. Bonkers

     them: "but, we have classes still! I can't miss classes"
     (the next day, after airports close)
     them: "they cancelled classes! We have to shelter in place!"
     (during hurricane)
     them: "dad, what do we do, there is water coming in through the light fixtures!!!"
