     If any of you guys have extra time and want to help, finding a good guess to what that HAX part is would be cool. I can't find the rest of the fet. I might take off the cover to the other fet though....

     Very good. In the meantime, I removed all the blasted copper I could find on the control board and removed the defective components. I'll put replacements on order, IF when I reassemble it, the removal of the bits of copper bridging out the control section doesn't bring back at least the other channel.

     Yeah in a box somewhere in the loft. There just not much room to work with while it's in the housing.
     
     My biggest concern is getting proper torque values on the output connectors that go to the AC side filter section.
     
     Would be a good day for one of those digital torque things.
     
     I'm going to think about it. First I'll see if I can find those part numbers for sale.

     I've had this one for 10 years and it's been awesome. I did some soldering on top of a utility pole once with it.
     
     But this one doesn't have the power either. I might have to pull this board out to get access to the backside... I don't wanna.

     Thank both of you niggys. I'm still trying to desolder the bad components. Not much room to work in, and my TS100 iron doesn't have enough thermal mass, I'm going to go get my butane one

     I wouldn't worry about most of it, If that table 1, KPPs is the same you should be fine. Most times the changes are in the +/-10% margins, and most applications don't need them lower.
