Dayalicia Tohka Mitsuki (daya@princess.wedding)'s status on Friday, 04-Oct-2024 22:49:21 JST Dayalicia Tohka Mitsuki @enigmatico I understand your point, but we still are not using floating cars and we there is not in the corner in every street to change parts of your body for machines or just for maintenance. And on that future there will be at least a robot for each family that cleans the home. And we will have a chip on the brain instead of smartphones or at least augmented reality glasses all the time and everyone -

【Ξnigmatico】:misskey: (enigmatico@mk.absturztau.be)'s status on Sunday, 06-Oct-2024 22:18:42 JST 【Ξnigmatico】:misskey: @daya@princess.wedding The thing about flying cars is that it's never going to happen. Even if we had the technology, which we kinda do but not quite yet (not like in the movies), they are dangerous and they could fall on top of people very easily. Plus they would require landing zones. Our streets would need to be remodeled in some way similar to movies like the fifth element, where the cities are just tall buildings and there are basically no streets and everyone has a car or hires a cab or something.
As for prosthetics and all that, it's kinda there already. It's not as advanced yet, but almost. You can't just swap a part of your body in some kind of shady dark market doctor or something, but that's probably for your own good. Robots that clean the house? We use roombas for that. They are not full robots like, anthropomorphic or anything like that, but they still work.
We truly are there.Dayalicia Tohka Mitsuki likes this. -

Dayalicia Tohka Mitsuki (daya@princess.wedding)'s status on Sunday, 06-Oct-2024 22:21:46 JST Dayalicia Tohka Mitsuki @enigmatico somehow the actuality is a very young future, but the future I envision is the one of 20 years later, all our current technology, but in steroids. Or maybe 40 years later, because biotechnology is just too slow!!!
probably the future i imagine will happen when cloning yourself became legal or you can buy an organ like a liver printed with an machine in Walmart.
