   First time I ever read a book mentioning #suddendeafness, a handicap that hit me years ago.

   That's a random affliction that will make you deaf or partially deaf in a course of a few hours. Most of the time (like me) you won't have ever heard of it and won't go straight at the hospital (as you ought to) - part of the disaster can be saved in some cases. Or else, like me, you'll just have to have to just deal with the aftermath : mono-sound with a lot of noise (tinnitus is our phantom pain).

     @otyugh what was the underlying cause for you if I may ask? an infection or multiple sclerosis or...?

     @kaia My physician had take a IRM to check for tumor and then settled for "yup, a nasty local infection must have happened, the hearing cells are destroyed and they're not renewable, it's too late to do anything. Suuuucks to be you mostly happens to people in their 40thies usually".
