niconiconi (niconiconi@mk.absturztau.be)'s status on Friday, 04-Oct-2024 19:45:53 JST niconiconi @lamp@kitty.haus Debian (and almost everyone else) only distributes source code, binary is compiled locally via DKMS, so Debian is not officially committing a GPL violation by mixing CDDL code into it. Canonical on the other hand has the boldest lawyers who argue it's not a license violation, so only Ubuntu dare to distribute binary.
