    As a family doctor, I can attest this is how the "pregnancy" weeks are counted. Unfortunately, almost everyone outside healthcare professions doesn't know it.

      If you’ve never been pregnant before, allow me to explain what is so ghastly about a six week ban on #abortion, and what they mean when they say most women don’t know they’re pregnant yet. Week 1 is technically the first week of the ovulation cycle that releases an (eventually fertilized) egg. It starts first day your menstrual period. You bleed throughout week 1. In week 2, you ovulate. Week 3, the egg gets fertilized. You’re halfway in and not even pregnant yet! 1/N
