Conversation

Listening to "American Pie" this morning brought a memory into sharp focus:

Me, laying on my stomach on the mottled bright green to army green shag carpeting of our living room, sun beaming through our open front door, with a tape player I'd used to record "American Pie" from the radio.

Notebook and pencil in hand, I start/stopped through the entire song, transcribing the lyrics.

The youth of today have no clue.
