I’m going to suggest, Amazon, that if my package is still not “out for delivery,” that there’s very little chance of it “arriving today by 10 pm.” This sort of thing is what got me to drop my Prime membership earlier this year. Late deliveries were less amusing when I was paying for them.

Warner Crocker (warnercrocker@mastodon.social)'s status on Monday, 30-Sep-2024 00:14:18 JST Warner Crocker @glennf @drdrang @shelly I’m in a very similar position in my household. The cutting down on errand driving has become a key reason for staying and as my wife’s job remains a bit overwhelming, the convenience of receiving household items for her keeps us in the tent.
The hit and miss with delivery in our area of Chicago changes at least twice a year and I attribute it to all sorts of backend logistick changes. I’ve seen the final delivery point change warehouses twice in four years.

I'd like to drop; my wife is resistant because we use it enough for low-dollar items at free shipping as opposed to trying to find them at stores which would require more time and more driving…I also am watching some Amazon Prime Video. I look forward to the day when the "deal" is bad.

Dr. Drang (drdrang@fosstodon.org)'s status on Monday, 30-Sep-2024 00:14:27 JST Dr. Drang This morning, the package that was absolutely going to be delivered yesterday is “now expected by October 3.” Quite a difference, and not the sort of update that’s going to make me look favorably on the Rejoin Prime button you’ve thoughtfully placed just below it.
