   @munin I don't get how you come to that conclusion. Generative AI makes new art in the same way people make new art.
   
   Every human artist is inspired and influenced by previous works. They had to see and consume art to get to where they are today.
   
   I don't think you can take an isolated human with no access to any art, no knowledge of color theory, etc etc and get anything more advanced than cave drawings. By their very nature of being isolated from the rest of humanity you're just making a Jungle Book Mowgli

     Chewing on the thought that 'generative ai' relies on the assumption that nothing new will ever be created and that only the masters of the past knew how to make true Art.

     It's a very Aristotolean view, and explains why they can't get the number of teeth right.
