     @judgedread The problem is there is no path forward for a "Team B" that would return to stability. The US is done; the window for maintaining *the* world power has passed. At the current rate the US will not even be able to defend its own borders. A crushing change in the country could retain a sphere of influence, but a simple change to a "team B" of elites would not generate enough political power to do this.
     
     It is not even guaranteed that Trump would have enough political power to start deporting invaders.
