     @Mollysdailykiss @DrVeronikaCH @neil This to me is the my main concern. Having infrastructure controlled by a single person or a tiny elite goes well against both personal philosophy and sensible risk-taking. I'm heavy on WordPress for now, but between this and the other recent news stories, I'll be keeping an eye on other decent SME-suitable tools to try. (Replacing the longevity of WordPress *is* a hard problem though.)

     @DrVeronikaCH @neil No, it's a beef between the CEO of automatic and WP engine. It's wealthy men having a bitch fight rather than sorting out the issue properly

     @DrVeronikaCH @Mollysdailykiss @neil Yes, I've used hugo and 11ty before and like them for what they are, but never quite found they fit my own use case, let alone less technical people. WordPress forks might be the way to go for a while.

     @scribe @Mollysdailykiss @neil I don't truly get the setup of many of those websites, it's some mix between .md files, yaml, config files, php, something else for smooth pop down sections, and then the GitHub actions... 🙈

     @scribe @Mollysdailykiss @neil true. I have many years of posts but not so many recently. The rest is static like CV etc. Could do one of those I see on GitHub.io and just export all the posts. But I haven't done even basic updates in a while so when to get around to it..
