   I'm trying to set up a #webfinger alias here:
   https://standiford.us/.well-known/webfinger?resource=acct:alex@standiford.us

   The intent is to use this site here:
   https://www.alexstandiford.com/.well-known/webfinger?resource=acct:alex@alexstandiford.com

   Ultimately I'm trying to use alex@standiford.us for my online presence and basically have that be an alias for my alex@www.alexstandiford.com.

   I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong though - everything seems correct but Mastodon can't locate me at @alex, only @alex

   Anyone have any ideas?

     @alexstandiford @alex sadly mastodon does not support redirecting or proxying of WebFinger handles :(

     @pfefferle Maybe it just got held up in cache. I think when I do @alex it seems to work now, but it ends up changing it to `alex@www.alexstandiford.com` instead

     @pfefferle @alex Okay so I actually did everything right, Mastodon is just like "nope"

     That's a shame.

     Any ideas on how I can make it work?

     @alexstandiford @alex this is a nice debugging tool, that shows what data mastodon uses: https://browser.pub/alex@standiford.us

     you can see the webfinger in the result is the other domain :(

     This is really useful, by the way! Thank you! Now I find myself wondering though – do I need to set up something special to support viewing comments on my site? I have ActivityPub set up, and my posts can be read, and I can even reply using the reply block. I can’t, however, seem to figure out how to get the discussions on my posts to display on my site. Am I missing something?

     @alex if someone replies to your post, it will be stored as a classic WordPress comment and you can reply in the comment section.
