wild to me how _so_ many people have ideas for how to fix portland's epidemic of homelessness and how I basically never hear anyone talking about renter's protections, rent control, taxing landlords (particularly non-local firms!), and trying to tip the scales so more people become owners vs. renters. like what if we actually went to the source of "what is the situation that transfers a person from a home to the street"
