As a geopolitics addict, I can confirm I'm trying to un-addict myself. The withdrawal symptoms are not as bad as I'm having a "recoil" reflex each time I click news on China/Ukraine/US. Keep it, up, 🧠!
The reason why #news can be so toxic is because you can't really do anything about that shit unless it's news directly in your neighbourhood. Which goes to show how important community news is! But it's dying or no longer there, that's the sad thing...

@liztai I find geopolitics to be a tonic against the superificial tretament of world affairs by mainstream news media. Geopolitics teaches us that war is, unfortunately, a rather rational affair, and that desperate decisions are rare.

@remoquete interesting take. Fore geopolitics was like taking the red pill. I had a naive understanding of how the world operated, and now my eyes are opened and I don't like what I see. And it kinda pains me to see that so many people are still blind to what's real. Then again, a part of me wonders if I have been sucked into some weird alt universe like QAnon. Sometimes my brain hurts trying to see if I live in a simulation or not lol
