if you spend six figures on a car you're losing your shirt. there are so, SO MANY cars under $100k that are gonna be more fun and less obnoxious to own.
the point of diminishing returns is significantly under that number, especially with american made cars now regularly slapping the shit out of the clockwork nightmares that are European cars
there is only ONE car I'd ever consider that MSRPs slightly over $100k and it's a CT5-V blackwing because it has the Camaro ZL1 engine in a cozy sedan format but even then, used is sub 100k.

@7666 @0 Certified preowned is the best, especially at lower millage. It also seems most new cars have shity interiors to so getting a older model is an upgrade.

@0 I said used, they're 90k for 2010-2020 depending on condition/mileage inside that date range
Porsche in the original post was also used at 110k

I do not see anything that approaches the 911 under 6 figures.

@dcc @0 my camaro was CPO too, but this was a few years before covid when sticker price and CPO price could differ up to 50%, now it seems dealers think a used car has just as much value as new so it's not AS good outside of the 10-15% discount and extra free warranty tacked on
For reference, sticker price on my cpo 2016 camaro was $40k. I paid $23k. $26k after fees, taxes, and opting for the warranty in case I blew the tranny (har har)

@7666 @0 Its still possible, i got my 330i xdrive 2020 for 32k (fully kited out)16k miles, and the base car costs 47k just barebones. Also the new bmw interiors after 2020 suck so i'm very happy.

@0 I mean it's getting there but it depends on what features you are married to. I'd also probably not buy a GTR because AWD is cool and all but i'll just take RWD and a manual. my pick remains a camaro ZL1 which can be found for $60-70k but it's a completely different experience

He seems like he'd buy an older one, but nothing out of Germany recently, for obvious reasons. An old 750li.

@dcc @7666 They're very nice cars. I almost got a 330i, but ended up going Toyota instead.

I love that switch when I get off pavement and get to let it wake up. :) (4Runner TRD for $35k, may have paid high but it had zero rust, immaculate.)
