  Soon, Louisiana will add the abortion pills misoprostol and mifepristone to its list of Schedule IV controlled substances, which will make it more difficult for doctors to access the drugs during emergencies – like when a woman is experiencing a serious condition like postpartum hemorrhaging or an incomplete miscarriage. Anti-abortion laws are endangering women’s health because they limit what treatments doctors can perform, which leads to a delay or denial of care – and women have already died because of it. “A D&C is an abortion,” Dr. Joia Crear-Perry tells Ali Velshi. “It’s just like weaponizing the word ‘socialism.’”
