     @davidaugust @realcarlallen my father suffered his entire life from the after effects of childhood polio. Scoliosis, atrophied calf muscles.
     Then when he got older he got post polio syndrome and polio related Parkinson’s.
     Pneumonia killed him , post polio caused more muscle atrophy and chronic respiratory failure .

     @terag1e @davidaugust @realcarlallen my uncle came home from WWII where he was a hero fighter pilot only to end up in an iron lung from polio.
     It’s no joke.

     @RiaResists @terag1e @realcarlallen Ouch, what a challenge that must have been. It is no joke, and I'm glad with vaccines we don't have to face that as he did.

     @davidaugust @realcarlallen If I could boost this a THOUSAND TIMES I would. I am a polio survivor as a kid. I knew too many that used these, and more that were not as fortunate as I in survival.

     It infuriates me to no end the total insanity of those not wishing to protect THEIR children by not getting vaccines and CAUSING even more susceptibility to dangerous diseases.

     @davidaugust @realcarlallen My friend Gary died of polio. I was five, he was seven. He was the boy next door. I remember playing with him in the stream where he likely contracted it. I remember going to the community centre for the sugar cube at the local vaccination drive that followed. Those of us that lived through it need to tell our stories.

     @maryeffrancis @davidaugust @realcarlallen my mother’s oldest brother died of polio as a toddler. His parents held him in their arms while he struggled to breathe then watched him die. In 1927 there was nothing that could help him and no vaccines to prevent it
