I have tried twice to send a parcel to France, and both times it has been prevented from leaving the country by Australian Customs
The first time, they provided zero explanation. A helpful person at Australia Post suggested that it might have been because I wasn't detailed enough on the customs declaration form.
The second time, I was insanely detailed. I took everything out of the parcel that might possibly be an issue (mostly snacks), and listed every other thing precisely according to the tariff coding available on the auspost website.
Just discovered that it got rejected by Customs at Melbourne airport again. the parcel tracker says "refused by Customs - export requirements not met"
They haven't actually returned the parcel to me yet. There might be more explanation on the parcel this time. Or there might not be.
Supposedly Customs are supposed to attach a form with their reasons if they reject a parcel. But they didn't do that last time. I don't have high hopes this time.
I want to cry.
