"Unlimited Paid Time Off", which is not unlimited in practice and means that you get far less during severance. Peer pressure means that you may actually take less time off or put in work during those days.
2. There is a strong ideological foundation and a perhaps even a "creed".
3. The founder-and-CEO was considered a wunderkind 20 years ago and still thinks he can program or have opinions on deep technical aspects.

Alda Vigdís 🇵🇸 🇱🇧 (alda@topspicy.social)'s status on Monday, 16-Sep-2024 22:55:07 JST Alda Vigdís 🇵🇸 🇱🇧 @nixCraft The workplace claims to be inclusive to those with different backgrounds than computer science but the recruitment process involves:
1. Calculating Big-O without specifying the operations that are available or other CS concepts and terminology.
2. A low-paid or unpaid trial process that ranges from 1-12 months, resulting in a financial or mental health breakdown and then love bombing at the end of the process (read any books about how cults actually work)

Alda Vigdís 🇵🇸 🇱🇧 (alda@topspicy.social)'s status on Monday, 16-Sep-2024 22:55:32 JST Alda Vigdís 🇵🇸 🇱🇧 @nixCraft The company is owned by a large well-established group of companies. The website says "we may be owned by Arbeitsfabrik AG but we're like a startup in spirit".
Turns out it is an LLC that is being sold off soon and none of the employees have access to the benefits provided by the parent company.

Gental Giant (gg12@techhub.social)'s status on Monday, 16-Sep-2024 22:56:07 JST Gental Giant @nixCraft they highlight there culture as a benefit to try and pay you less then market rate. Ask the last time the interviewer received a raise did it match inflation? When was the last time they where promoted? What does that process look like? Request a clear job description if it has vague language and seems to span multiple job roles then run they will gaslight you into doing multiple roles.

- The company requires you to immediately sign the contract
- The team is self organizing without any standard base
