     @Inginsub @RustyCrab @creamqueen the msvc compiler suite (https://github.com/mstorsjo/msvc-wine) including msbuild since https://github.com/mstorsjo/msvc-wine/pull/103 runs fine, but yeah, visual studio has it's own set of proprietary api's no one will ever bother to port

     @RustyCrab @creamqueen I haven't tried myself, but I don't think so. visual studio probably detects when it's run under wine and refuses to work - that would be very in character for microsoft. I know photoshop doesn't work for different autistic reasons.
     
     Photoshop is actually silver now, that's a huge improvement compared to what I remember.

     @RustyCrab @creamqueen proton and wine-ge offer much better compatibility for old (pre-dx11) games than windows 10 or 11, and pretty much the only modern games you can't play are all multiplayer with anticheat, and if you play those you're used to humiliation already

     @Inginsub @creamqueen how comprehensive is the emulation these days? Could I run visual studio and msbuild on linux? (I know the answer is no but if games work it seems like that's not infeasible)

     @creamqueen windows is so bloated its often faster to emulate windows on linux than it is to just run on windows (see: Steam Deck)

     I don't believe anyone has bothered to get that malware running, as it's so garbage and useless there's no point doing so.
