I've been ordering a lot of Uber Eats recently because I'm able to combine BOGO offers with 40 or 50% off promos, so I could get a $80 order for $20 plus fees, on a good day. And fees here are pretty reasonable compared to some big cities. Unfortunately, Uber seems to have caught onto this, and now items that have a promotional discount already are not counted toward the promo at all. Probably means I'll be ordering much less, so at least there's that. It was fun while it lasted.

They may have slightly increased fees, but the total amount for an order has gone down. I'm glad I can now decide to tip drivers afterward instead of adding one before the driver even got assigned, which never made sense and left me feeling like I had no idea what a fair tip actually looked like.

It's frustrating because it's by far the cheapest option if you have Uber1, but I am not at all on board with American companies trying to export their broken tipping culture, particularly when you have to pay extra just to make sure they don't go half way around the world before they even arrive at your door.
