   @nik @evan I'll let you and @evan discuss that. He's made it clear to me that plain JSON (no JSON-LD processing) has primacy over JSON-LD/RDF. That's one reason this thread is so interesting to me, given the recommendation to use the OWL ontology.

     Our target audience is software developers who are experienced with JSON-based APIs like Twitter's or Facebook's.

     You can write AS2 as plain JSON and it will just work.

     For validation and verification, you can use JSON-LD.

     And if you really need tight compliance, there's the OWL ontology.
