   I am not sure I am gonna host my own crypto nodes anymore. It's taken me days and I still don't have a working system, constant different errors.

     @harblinger Yeah but even my Eth node isn't working right.
     
     I started the Eth2 beacon node with a sync checkpoint so it would be up to date faster, and within a few hours it was properly synced up.
     
     I just tried to use it and now it's out of sync by over 3000 days. How did this happen, who the fuck knows because there's no errors in the log.

     @harblinger I have spent a small fortune on hosting and equipment to run my own nodes and it was all a giant waste of time and money.

     @harblinger Once I get an Optimism node set up I won't be setting up any more.
     
     Basically need Eth, Base and Optimism and I have everything I want to self-host.

     @sun I setup a local ETH node pretty recently lighthouse/geth and I ended up having to resync after days of an initial sync, I forget the error, but resyncing fixed it. Annnoying. Glad a restart worked. I sort of want to get a L2 node working someday, but I'm pretty sure I'd have to upgrade hardware (again)

     @harblinger Arbitrum is extremely interesting. Particularly now you can write smart contracts on top of a WASM execution engine.

     I'm mostly interested in arbitrum because of the perpetual futures trading that happens there. I've done some transactions on Optimism and Base, but nothing major yet. I'd read any write up on your thoughts on L2s since I haven't looked into the tech behind them, just what's happening on top
