I learned (probably 10 years ago) that Xcode is not to be trusted with even basic version control (Git) tasks. Things haven’t changes as much as they should have since then.

When you’re a professional you owe it to yourself and your clients to use the best tool for your job that you can afford. When it comes to Git, Xcode ain’t it.
