I have Steam/PC, but on my PS4 and PS5 I've only ever played physical games. I think I've only bought 2~3 games from Sony digitally and they were for the Vita .. and I lost access to that account but it doesn't matter since all Vita games are unlocked on Sony's servers now.
My PS4 is hacked so I can sideload pkg files/games. I keep my PS5 disconnected and behind on updates in hopes it will one day get a Hypervisor hack.
Stellar Blade played entirely without Internet for the v1.0 release (which is also the only way you can play it without Eve's cleavage censored on three of the outfits). But you need the day-1 patch for New Game+ (they never uncensored the bunny, blue swimsuit and dominatrix outfits, but in 1.03 they added two outfits that looked like them but were uncensored and different colors).
Unicorn Overlord didn't require Internet either.
Hogwarts Legacy does require Internet (it downloads 45GB, but not until after the intro; so the disc basically contains the demo and not the full game .. to be fair, it says it requires Internet Access on the box .. still shitty)
If a PS4/5 game doesn't say it requires Internet access, it should be playable straight from the disk.
I almost wonder if a PS5 Pro would be worth buying just to keep in a closet as a low-firmware release in hopes of the day for an exploit. I feel like piracy is now the only way to safely archive games.
