My biz partner is convinced a Trump presidency would be better for the country on no other issue but that the economy would be better. A close second is because VP Harris is a woman and because she's black.

When I told him there are dozens and dozens of economists who have said a Trump presidency would wreck the U.S. economy almost beyond repair as well as wrecking the global economy he wasn't convinced.

So he very quickly looked up under which presidencies is the economy better... a republican or democrat president. Apparently under democrats the economy is typically better.

But he had to add that under Reagan the economy was better.

I responded with "at what cost though?" What did we lose because of that. He deregulated so much and as a result, the environment was ruined. Home/work life balance destroyed. Gentrification of neighborhoods intensified causing pockets of intense socioeconomic poverty. Food deserts began expanding. Healthcare costs exploded.

He is so invested in being a racist, misogynist and looking out for himself that even the data can't convince him.

And I think it's that way for hundreds of millions of Americans as well and why this race is so damn close.
