@Sylvhem I have an entire set of opinions about CSS, most of which boil down to the idea that, although separating content from formatting has arguments in its favour (I've worked in publishing, I really do get it), the move to do so destroyed the broader accessibility and flexibility of HTML.
I also dislike CSS as a language, but I'm prepared to accept that as a me thing.
@HauntedOwlbear Really? I’m only doing HTML and CSS has a hobby, but I always felt like it let things be more flexible, not less. You can apply different styling to the same page without having to touch the content, and I think that’s pretty cool!
@Sylvhem Honestly, this is more an "old man shakes fist at cloud" position / blatant shitpost † than any kind of argument I can maintain an actual argument for.
† the top post, but I really do dislike CSS personally - I think the main thing is that's no longer trivial to just scribble your entire site and its formatting into a text editor and have something attractive and functional 10 minutes later.
That's incredibly sweet, and when my time is less rationed, I shall take you up on it!
I genuinely love how fedi has the very "no, look, this thing is good, you can learn how to do it, I believe in you!" attitude. You're both being awesome like that.
