Hundreds of birds were gathered on the lakes as we walked along. Suddenly, they rose in one huge startling screeching cloud of alarm. Nearby birdwatchers said: Havorn. A white-tailed eagle! We watched it swoop at the lake, birds and fish. Even at a distance, its wingspan and speed were terrifying & beautiful.
An amazing experience. Of which I have no photo because I was too enthralled to take one. So now I'm just telling you about it, which is dull for you.
