   shitty little web animations like scrolling text that aren't even in an active window make my laptop run significantly hotter than streaming video, even from youtube
   
   I have to be careful to make sure any tabs with animations aren't left in focus in a background window or I'll find my laptop sitting at 90 C after a bit
   
   frontend web developers are a fucking menace

     @SmidgePierce Almost all laptops have insufficient cooling and so 90°C at full load is what you would expect.
     
     CPUs last decades just fine even when ran at at 90°C - although any hotter will reduce the lifespan.

     @SmidgePierce Demon rectangles are even worse - as they only have passive cooling - any full load usage for a substantial period of time will cause the SoC temperature to exceed 100°C.
