I can't help but view "rewrite evrrything in Rust" as a religious movement, not something motivated by practicality.
Remember when C# was the chosen language that was going to unleash the productivity promised for decades? There were even Mono and DotGNU meant to bring those benefits to the *nix heathens without us bowing before statues of Gates and Ballmer. It was good in some ways, but not miraculous.
I feel like we'll all say the same once the wave of Rusticrucian evangelism is quieted by real world failures.

@lnxw37j1 i think there’s actual benefits to memory safety but there’s also a cost to throwing away everything you already have that more or less already works

@a Yes, there are benefits to nemory safety, but AFAIK Rust focuses on one aspect of this while avoiding some other aspects.
