Yesterday I posted something about not understand some people's relationship with spending, and I'm about to do so again right now.
I just read an article by someone who says they applied a Japanese philosophy (waste not, want not, basically) to their grocery shopping and saved $127 in a week.
That's for a single person, not a family. I don't think I even spend $127 on groceries for myself in total for a week, and this person cut out $127 in spending by being more mindful of her purchases.
Among her "innovations" was eating leftovers or using leftovers to prepare new dishes.
How does someone spend and waste so profligately??
