But yes I also agree to what you said, I’m still gonna do both fan art and original, but I wanna spend more time on original because it feels good, and I’m slowly building an artist profile irl as well. So social media shouldn’t be my everything. -

If you want portfolio work, I'm not that knowledgeable but just draw original stuff on the side.
Like yeah no one is gonna care about your original stuff until you build up an audience, skill, and consistentcy. Even then, trying to compete with trending is futile because these are external stuff with huge backing and million of followers.
You should focus on making better art and stuff that fufills you and the fans you make along the way.

御Nightingalle (nightingalle@shpposter.club)'s status on Thursday, 05-Sep-2024 19:22:06 JST 御Nightingalle If I want my original concept art to gain more attention then I’d have to let fandom characters represent the content, but first of all I’m straying away from weeb fandoms, all I like is just vocaloid and splatoon, so not much good option there. Second of all it’d be hard for me to using those drawings as portfolio else where since they’d be semi-fan art, especially if I want to hold exhibitions for myself
Perhaps just keep grinding low-traffic original drawings sometimes isn’t that bad, sure less people are gonna notice it but at least I have more freedom to use them however I want
