It's early days, but the new #takahe population in the Greenstone has done well in its first year. All 28 founders are alive, and last year 7-10 chicks hatched.   Takahē thrive in new wild home on Ngāi Tahu whenua in Ōtākou/Otago
  
  Ngāi Tahu and DOC are delighted takahē have been thriving, and raising juveniles, in their first year in their new home on Ngāi Tahu whenua/land in the upper Lake Whakatipu Waimāori valleys.
