   I'm on Amtrak's Acela 2173 which has backed up and, we are informed, is about to pull alongside a stranded train to "rescue" some 200 passengers near Newark, Delaware.

     @w7voa Good luck! I was on an Acela train in almost exactly the same situation about two months ago. The icing on the cake was when the crew timed out from all the delay one station away from DC, and we had to wait another hour for a fresh crew. Ah, Amtrak.

     Update: "It does not look we're going to do a rescue," but Acela 2173 will stand by until it is determined whether two spare engines can be attached to Amtrak NE Regional 175, with 200+ passengers aboard, which has broken down 48 miles NE of Baltimore.
