@lebronjames75 @VD15 most payments are done via nfc these days, either with the card by phone, there you usually don't need any code because you're already showing that you have physical access to the card/phone. If it has actually been stolen you can just reverse the charges. I guess credit card companies found out that it's better for them to just eat up the losses caused by stolen credit cards instead of making people input pins.

@cell @VD15 @lebronjames75 yeah, phone nfc is much more secure than pertty much all of the alternatives, it also doesn't give the merchant your CC number ever so it can't be stolen in the first place.

@lain @VD15 @lebronjames75 actually it’s interesting cause phone nfc has a biometric component, banks treat that as better than signature/pin
i’ve paid 1k+ singapore dollars via phone nfc and it went through instantly :cat_alien:
