   Why the hell are some people SO against people on Fedi making money?

   If people have no way to make money here, Fediverse will die.

   It may be hard to accept, but it's true.

     @justinf as long as there's no data collection/targeted ads, it should be fine.

     There's literally no way for it to survive if there's no way for people to make money.

     That's why the other social medias are as big as they are, people can monetize.

     @BeAware I think it's for fear that it goes down a slippy slope and becomes like every other social media platform out there. Okay, we know that won't happen, but I think that's the underlying sentiment.
