     Even in the 50s this was well understood, which is why placement of orphans with family was prioritized.
     
     This is also why the modern adoption industry is evil - the point is to serve the equality regime

     @That-Mushroom For sure. And as a society we used to know this, but pretending it isn't so is what has allowed it to flourish, because husbands and fathers haven't been allowed to punish women doing this.

     It's not that some of the worst true crime cases i've seen are women that abuse their daughters/stepdaughters in a horrific manner they all were horrifically deranged women that saw the young girl as competition for attention.
