I spent 90 minutes at a Market Basket supermarket in Biddleston Maine this morning. It was the closest fast public charger to our beach hotel -- about 15 km from the shore. I had a coffee and did some work in the supermarket cafe.

When I'm traveling, I seek out restaurants, cafes and other businesses that have chargers. It takes 30-90 minutes to get fully charged, and I'm happy to find a place to have a meal while I wait.

Evan Prodromou (evan@cosocial.ca)'s status on Monday, 02-Sep-2024 21:23:48 JST Evan Prodromou For hotels, I LOVE finding a place that has a medium-speed charger that I can use overnight. Come in with a low charge, and leave in the morning at 100%? Heaven. I'm going to pick that hotel every time.

If you have a business and you want people to come spend an hour or two, and a chunk of money, put in a fast electric charging station. If you want them to stay overnight, put in a slow charger. It's a magnet for customers.

Not close to us in Vermont but wave if you go through!
FYI we have decided to spent US Thanksgiving in Montreal this year.

even a slow one like 6kW would do.
A 2h movie and you get between 50 to 100km of mileage back.
Anyone would even be fine with 3kW as long as it is free.
