What did this guy expect would happen? He posted something savaging the platform and people got up in arms about it.

@ernie Minor gripe about that thread, he says it's been 11 months since the last Mastodon release, but we've been continously updating mastodon.social with improvements over that time, and making them available as nightlies.
@TechConnectify @ernie I'd love you to see the improvements we made in Mastodon after our chat, like notification filtering and notification grouping. Unfortunately, mas.to looks to be waiting for the stable 4.3 release before updating, so it'll probably be a week or two more.
@ernie I'm not sure I'm seeing what you're seeing. Could be that ol' Fedi goodness but other than a few back-and-forth arguments, I'm not picking up on surprise.
At this point, I know I can't be critical of this place without taking shit which is why I've stopped. But that's kind of the whole problem, as I see it.
@TechConnectify I agree there's room for improvement. It just struck me as a weird thread where he had a point that was likely to be poorly accepted, but didn't seem to anticipate the response.
@ernie I'm biased because, having looked through there my thoughts seem nearly perfectly aligned with the OP, but tbh there's a lot of people living the "this is fine" meme over here, and at this point being blunt might be necessary.
You don't have to love the fediverse but can you stop walking into hornet’s nests and blaming the hornets?
My gripe with @o_simardcasanova’s thread is his grievance seems predicated on the assumption that the Fediverse should be an “equivalent” to Big Social, which by its nature, must play to Big Capital. Who ever said it should be that? He wants that, and that’s fine. Let BlueSky and Threads support the masses with Big Social, post-Musk. The Fediverse can serve those who benefit those masses with productive ideas, discourse, and leadership.
@Gargron @ernie To be clear Eugen, I immensely respect your work and the work of the team
You clearly punch above your weight considering the limited resources the foundation operate with
Thank you for everything you’re doing!
