Especially appreciated: do you have high school age kids? Could you ask them what they'd want to hear from someone who finished school 20 years ahead of them? That'd be pretty awesome too.

Derek Caelin is writing a book (derek@social.coop)'s status on Saturday, 31-Aug-2024 20:53:30 JST Derek Caelin is writing a book @timixretroplays When I graduated high school I had a clear, impossibly ambitious vision of how I was going to change the world. When the original plan failed, I felt like a failure, but simce I've been happily doing a series of other things.
I'd tell younger me to not expect life to be linear. Expect the road to wind.

Tim 🎮 (timixretroplays@digipres.club)'s status on Saturday, 31-Aug-2024 20:53:31 JST Tim 🎮 So I ran into one of my old high school teachers this week, who recognised me immediately and, after a bit of a catch-up chat, suggested I should come back some time soon and speak to the current crop of soon-to-be school finishers about life after school and how things are going.
The script in my head is already very "wear sunscreen", but: what advice would you give to 18-year-old yourself? What would you or your kids *want* to hear from future-you?
Boosts and serious comments appreciated.
