     I feel the same — and that’s despite being squarely cis, hetero, and male. I’m gender-noncomforming enough to have had many people cause me a fair bit of pain for not fitting inside their gender boxes. I hesitate to claim the term “queer” for myself; I feel like that should be reserved for folks who’ve experienced harms far, far beyond what I have. But I’ll say this: when I see that a space is queer-safe, I feel safer there too.

     Exactly, yes, all that. Pushing boundaries of accepted gender norms is something I’m safer doing than many, and like to do; conversely, those who are pushing boundaries even further than me, often from a place of far less safety, make things safer for me. In it together!

     I mean, I didn't choose my gender or sexuality either, so I'm not about to give anyone shit about living their own in whatever way makes sense to them. It's still always cool to see even cis and het folks pushing the boundaries of what is considered "accepted" gender norms if they feel like it. We can't pick our gender or sexuality, but fashion and behavior is all just social bullshit you can express yourself however you like.
