   Any idea how to stop these annoying popups on various websites in Chrome while keeping using the Google account? How can CNN know that I have Google account without me giving it specific consent?

   UPDATE: Found it hidden in Chrome settings / Privacy and security / Site settings / Additional content settings / Third party sign-in

     @fuxoft they make a request to an endpoint on google's servers, your browser attaches your session cookie to that request (because its going to google), who then serves up this response back to the browser.
