     @Twitter_expat @TechCrunch this has been possible for awhile now.

     However, it's misleading.

     1. It's private on Threads. Only the mentioned user will see it.

     2. You cannot mention more than one user. If you do, it won't go to Threads and they won't see it.

     3. It HAS to be a reply to a post that already exists on threads. You can't make a new post and mention a threads user, it won't go to threads.

     Its cool, but not really how replies and mentions are supposed to work, obviously...🤦♂️

     The threads guy has been quiet about this. It's huge that in threads they will be able to see and read our replies. HUGE #Fediverse

     @Twitter_expat @TechCrunch now that I've actually read the article, it seems they are saying that replies will be public?!?!

     When did/is that happening?!?🙌🙌🙌

     I didn't have time to read the article when I commented before, so I didn't know this was a thing!

     @Twitter_expat @TechCrunch *too* slow integrating for me.

     A single person used AP to bridge BlueSky before a multi-billion dollar corporation could feasibly do it for themselves?

     I don't buy that they couldn't do it faster than this, they have some weird motive. I just can't shake that feeling.

     I believe they are slowing integrating and this new step is huge for the fediverse users.
