     @sampo it's not theft, because theft per se doesn't employ violence or threats of thereof. Taxation is robbery.

     @newt @sampo yeah but i don't think it fits as well as the alternative. governments might provide you with sub-par services, but they do give you something 'in return'. A robber wouldn't. It's more like going to karaoke with your new-found chinese girlfriends and then figuring out that you have to pay $1000 for the stuff they ordered or they'll beat you up.
