I think consent goes further than authority when it comes to teaching and learning

So when I’ve given a class to youngsters the last few years, I make “agreements” instead of rules.

I don’t know how much the difference registers for my students, but for me I’m starting off from a place of negotiation instead of demand and I think that’s how you do good work
