     And while 2024 has thrown a lot of curveballs, I haven't woken up wondering if people online were mad at me, doxxing me, trying to hack my accounts or get me fired.

     I put my previous posting energy/cleverness into writing, group chat conversations, getting lunch with friends.

     If not for the pandemic, I would have weaned myself off Twitter much sooner.

     Elon buying it helped me along. I'm on Bluesky and Mastodon, sorta, and that's it.

     At the end of 2019, I called Rowling transphobic on Twitter (before it was cool) and that unleashed a wave of harassment against me that Twitter helpfully highlighted as a Moment and did nothing about.

     I started to reconsider my social media relationship. -->

     I got asked over the weekend (a few times) if I was okay because I haven't been posting as much these days.
