Please understand that when Republicans bleat about the Democratic candidate not getting deep enough into “policy,” it’s because they know good & goddamned well Democrats fucking LOVE policy, but average Americans hate it

Dems who get deep into policy details as an electoral strategy don’t excite anyone & lose every time. Clinton, Kerry, Gore, Dukakis, Mondale, on & on.

The GOP just wants to run against an upstanding but boring policy wonk again. It’s the only thing that’s dependably worked.
