The reason that the DNC could not "allow" a Palestinian American to speak is the same reason why Ocasio-Cortez couldn't utter the word "genocide" during her speech -
It would divert from the carefully curated message that Dems have been hammering since the beginning:
1. Israel has a right to defend itself.
2. Palestinians need more humanitarian aid.
3. These two components are unrelated.

Someone speaking on behalf of the Palestinian perspective, would have necessarily paired the violence and the destruction with the intentional starvation/deprivation, that the US actively supports, thereby smashing the cowardly and deadly subterfuge to pieces.
It's really insidious stuff and liberals really need to sit with it.

Despite what any moral or rational observer can plainly see - that humanitarian efforts are impossible without ending the violence - from the Dem perspective, stopping the bombs, the terror and displacement are WHOLLY unrelated to the provision of food, water, medical aid.
Democrats are doing their absolute best to convince, or rather, trick their constituents into believing otherwise. Which is why, even when discussing suffering Palestinians, they rarely talk about ending the violence.

If you've failed to extrapolate the towering evil at the heart of this Democratic triangulation strategy, allow me to elucidate it for you:
The suffering of Palestinians represents leverage at the negotiating table for the US and Israel. They are using it, not to obtain a ceasefire, but to bury the notion of Palestinian sovereignty once and for all. Remember that next time Biden/Blinken/Harris claim they are "working tirelessly" to achieve a ceasefire, and what that represents for Palestinians.

They are never going to "surge" aid into Gaza.
They are never going to halt Israel's overt and recurring crimes against humanity or their direct targeting of civilians, or the sick fuck torture of kidnapped Palestinians in Israeli prisons. At least not until they get what they want from the negotiations.
All of the suffering is, from the perspective of the United States, worth it and so they support it with everything they've got.

The question is: negotiate with who?
Perhaps, get rid of Bibi and Ben Gvir and replace them with kinder gentler genociders who would tut-tut louder about IDF/settler militia r*pe and torture?
My take on this is that this simply reflects the Democrats' continuing dependence on right-wing billionaire donors who openly boost the ZioNazi project as a reflection of restoring US power in East Asia as a counterweight to BRICS.
