   I love the fact that the WaPo has been roasted for these stupid fact checks and they're doubling down.

   "The speaker claimed it was 83 percent, but it was actually 82.4 percent. We rate this claim as false"

     Josh Marshall argued the other day (paywall)🔒that political reportage has gotten worse, not better, in the wake of Trump's election in 2016 and is dominated by "winning the day, narrative driving, meta-story over story, 'takes' ... political journalism today is a product of the DC-centric, Politico era and there’s very little left from the prior era of journalism to provide a ballast against its worst tendencies."

     I find that hard to argue with.

     Trump's out there claiming cisgender women athletes are trans, telling people that immigrants seeking asylum are actually from insane asylums, and the Washington Post is like, "Hakeem Jeffries used the wrong verb tense, we give him 100 Pinocchios"
